Recitals

  Opportunity

The opportunity to perform in a recital is offered twice a year to all students.

Recitals are not mandatory but are strongly encouraged as they are a tremendous learning tool.  Also, they are a lot of fun.

Ribbons and our famous "Goodie Bags" are awarded to each student for participation.

 

  Public Performance

Our aim to bring every student to their full musical potential.  So many of them gain enough confidence in their abilities to take part in public performances that we are now able to stage an event with two sets of performances.  The box on the right gives details of the next recitals.

We welcome an audience for our performers.  Despite our little gifts for each performer, applause from an appreciative audience is perhaps their most memorable reward.

Some of them may even progress further than showing the audience at one of our recitals the pleasure they get from playing.  If they have the talent to make a career in public performance, then it is our role to help them recognize that.

Then consider this student.  When she took her first lesson at home, did she ever dream that one day she would be on stage, seated at a full sized concert grand piano?

Yet here she is, on October 9th 2011, showing the audience the ability that the time spent practising brings.  We think she is one of our pupils who could go much further.  She recently performed an audition and was accepted for the Performing Arts program at Gibbs High School in St. Petersburg.
